Excitement!

Not the reason for writing this post BUT...I was so excited to see my header isnt blurry anymore & that it was a blogger issue & not me!!

I love to share my passion (or should I say obsession) of scrapbooking, papercrafting, and of course CTMH with others. I get even more excited to see what others create!! So I wanted to post a link over to my bestie, Nicole's blog.  She may call herself a "newbie" to scrapbooking but she is one crafty mama and you would never know that she just started scrappin'!!  At our crop last month she completed her 6x6 My Creations Accordian Album using Aspen and did such an amazing job!  Oh and the techniques...look out...edge distressing, stamping, layering, punching, I could go on...but why don't you pop on over to her blog and check out the slideshow of pics she put together!  LOVE!

This is just a taste of Nicole's Album
I am also so excited that there is just one more week until the new Spring/Summer 2011 Idea Book is available!  The new papers are just gorgeous, new embellishments completely over the top, and the possibilities are endless! Contact me for your very own copy!

This is a sneak peek of some artwork made with one of the new paper packs and one of my favorites, Sophia!

Something New

I just love learning new things!!  Especially when it comes to blogging...something that just a few short months ago I knew nothing about!  I must give credit where credit is due; Sarah at Clover Lane! She created a beautifully written (with pictures...a must for me!) step-by-step tutorial on how to use Picasa to make a blog header!  I have been wanting to change my header and add pictures to it but I never knew how; thanks to google I came across this tutorial and started playing around!  Now I can change my blog header whenever it suits my fancy!  I just need to figure out how to get it to not look so blurry (the version that I created and saved is not fuzzy at all, so i'm not sure what I did wrong)...any tips or suggestions, please send them my way!  But hey, it's a start!!

Wings Workshop on the Go

I know last week when I posted the cards that I created from the leftover scraps, I promised more pics were to come.  So here you go!  Below are pictures of the two-page layout that the WOTG provides detailed instructions to create.  I really do love this paper pack and I think it is very versatile!  It can be used for teen layouts, beach photos, and even babies!!  I did create a few additional pages but have not had a chance to take pictures yet and i'm off to Florida in the morning (well I hope...seeing that we are now expecting more "wintry mix" weather!).

Don't forget to celebrate National Papercrafting Month not only do you get detailed instructions to create the layouts above and 6 cards, you also get instructions to create the My Creations Banner!  The specials in the Inspirations Brochure are only good for the month of January, so contact me today to get more info!  When you purchase the WOTG, you can receive all of the other stamp sets in the brochure at a discount! You can also get the stamp of the month for FREE by spending just under $50 instead of $100!

Misting Away!

It seems like color mists and sprays are the new paper crafting craze...I see them popping up on scrapbook pages and cards everywhere!  I was really excited to try out the spray pen because you can mix up your very own color, how awesome!  I created my own sparkley lavendar misted photo mat using Petal Re-inker, Create-a-Shade Pearl Paint, and water...easy peasy!  See close-ups of the paper below.

With the new idea book (available Feb. 1st) you can order the spray pen, it comes in a 3 pack for just $3.95, so affordable!  But you don't have to wait until February to get the spray pen...one comes in the Wings WOTG which is available now in the Inspirations Brochure!  I would love to send you your very own copy of the brochure in the mail right away!  Email me if you would like to get your hands, there is nothing like seeing all of the beautiful artwork in person!

H2H Color Challenge

The first challenge of the new year is a color challenge using the colors Sky, Pear, Colonial White, and a hint of Sorbet.  How fun!  I waited until the end of the week to post this with the hopes that the recipient of my cute little card won't read my post before tomorrow!  To make the card, I used left over scraps from Magnifique and Olivia papers, along with sorbet brads.  I just had to make a paper flower and the brad in the center is from the Splendor brad pack!

Ring in the New Year Crop

This blog post is going to be short but sweet!  I should be cleaning the house but this is much more fun! As I want to update you all on what a fun time we had croppin' on Saturday - all while the baby is napping...which could be for 5 minutes or 2 hours!!  Like Auntie Nic says, "She's the BOSS of the house!"  Anyway, it took me a few extra minutes to get my hands on my camera that I safely packed away in the wee hours on Sunday morning and to download the pics!  What a great time with such fun scrapbook friends!  We had a great set up where everyone got their own table with plenty of space to spread out and that we did!  Between all of us we could have opened shop!  We were armed with lots of supplies, good conversation, and of course tons of food!  I also have a few pics to share of some of the pages I completed.  I finally got to create a page using the 6 x 12 flip flaps, they are so cool!  I was able to turn a 2 page layout into a 4 page layout!!  Check it out below and pop onto my website if you want some of your very own!  I also got to share how to make the super cool paper roses that I learned from watching Tracey Mason (which you can watch here...she is awesome by the way...I don't know her (yet) but I blog "stalk" her!  She is sooo talented and her blog is way funny!!)  I also got to play around with the new spray pen (pics to come on a blog later today or tomorrow!!)

Left side of layout using Magnifique Paper, Simple Stitches stamp set & liquid glass

Right side of the layout using the flip flaps, Maqnifique Papers, Sparkles blue & green assortment, & liquid glass.

This is the inside of the previous layout with the flap at the top open.  I also used a Martha Stewart punch to edge the mat in the flip flap photo.

This is the same layout with the bottom flip flap open.

This is the layout that is underneath the flip flaps.

This shows the flip flap at the bottom of the page open

January Stamp of the Month

I just finished getting everything together for the crop tomorrow...now all I need is a U-Haul to get it there!  Can't wait to get some scrapping done, catch up with friends, and share all the wonderful things CTMH has going for the new year (and maybe even some new catalogs!!).  Today I decided to create a few cards, not something I normally do but I have been finding myself getting more inspired to create cards and not just scrapbook pages! So, I wanted to post pics of the two cards I created using the awesome new SOTM, Find Your Style, and my leftovers from the Wings WOTG.  More artwork to come!  Did you know that you can get this stamp set at such a great deal this month, for as little as $49.80!!!  Normally, you have to spend $100 to earn the stamp for FREE but this month you don't even need to spend $50!  What a great deal!  I was hoping to get more done but this week got away from me, being sick and you know that adorable little one that takes up most of my time!  But that's what tomorrow is for!!
This card uses the Wings paper pack and ribbon from the WOTG
This card uses papers from the Wings paper pack, new black pleated ribbon, and I embossed the butterfly (thanks to Nicole for borrowing my embossing gun and getting me to pull it out of the stash, I love rediscovering old tools!!)
